Team building is crucial to an efficient workforce and employee retention, yet it can be difficult for manufacturers to encourage a culture of teamwork. After completing this course, participants will be able to build better work relationships within the team and promote more effective communication between team members. Lesson 1: The Foundation of an Effective Team
This lesson sets the foundation for effective teams by delving into the 5 Dysfunctions of a Team by Patrick Lencioni. The remainder of the module focuses on trust and the relationship to respect and credibility.
Understand the difference between trust, respect and credibility;
Learn techniques to improve your trust, respect and credibility;
Apply your learning on trust, respect and credibility to foster more productive work relationships.
Lesson 2: Fundamentals of Emotional Intelligence
Every member of a team has different strengths, weaknesses and needs and team members should always be sensitive to their co-workers’. In this module, participants will understand how to use their emotional intelligence skills to manage impulses, communicate with others effectively, solve problems and use humor to build rapport in different situations.
Understand the dysfunctions of a team and how it is linked to emotional intelligence;
Learn techniques to achieve greater self-awareness, self-management;
Learn strategies to increase your empathy and social skills;
Apply your learning on emotional intelligence to foster more productive work relationships.
Lesson 3: Conflict Management
Whenever working in teams, there is a possibility of conflict. During this module, participants will learn a process that they can use to modify and resolve day to day conflicts as well as other crucial conflict resolution skills, including dealing with anger and using the Agreement Frame.
Understand conflict and the various sources;
Identify your dominate style of conflict management and learn others’;
Learn methods for dealing with difficult people.
Lesson 4: Team Building & Celebration
Teams are typically comprised of people with diverse ideas and backgrounds and will always outperform individuals when leaders understand how to build these teams and leverage the strengths of all team members. This module will encourage participants to explore the different aspects of a team, as well as ways that they can become a top-notch performer.
Demonstrate your ability to work as an effective team;
Demonstrate problem-solving skills;
Review stages of team development;
Understand the importance of rewards and recognition.
