D.3 Siemens S7 with TIA Portal | Instructor-Led (16Hrs)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Siemens TIA Portal course provides learners with the skills to write simple software code, configure the hardware, communicate with the HMI, and enter comments. After completing this course, participants will gain confidence in connecting the programming software to the PLC processor and monitoring the PLC software using the live software. 


COURSE OBJECTIVES
Lesson 1: Overview of the S7-1200 Hardware 
Identify the components, learn the terminology and identify the software required to troubleshoot and make edits as well as become familiar with the basic structure and features of Step 7 TIA followed by wiring. How to create and manage a project, locate and interpret hardware settings and modify hardware configuration settings in the CPU properties. Participants will download a TIA application to a CPU.

Lesson 2: Introduction to Memory and the Memory Layout 
Introduction of Memory and the Memory Layout. Data Blocks are covered whereby the participant will modify, create and explain the differences. Learn to use an existing watch table to monitor CPU data as well as, create and modify one. Understand Bit Level Instructions.

Lesson 3: Counters and Timers 
Memory requirements, instructions, differences, operations and troubleshooting of counters and timers are introduced. To conclude the module, participants will interpret ladder programs, troubleshoot, edit and create using math instructions.

Lesson 4: Troubleshooting 
Identify, troubleshoot, modify and create using compare instructions. Next the FC and FB Blocks are covered followed by troubleshooting.
