CERTIFICATE DESCRIPTION
Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programs have been proven to help workers (from plant-floor employees to senior executives) incorporate maintenance into the everyday performance of a facility, detect maintenance problems earlier, "mistake-proof" equipment and reduce breakdowns. After completing this training, participants will have the tools to launch, lead and sustain a systematic equipment and maintenance management improvement process and ensure alignment with overall Environmental, Health and Safety goals.

CERTIFICATE OBJECTIVES

5.5.1 Total Productive Maintenance: Overview of TPM and Autonomous Maintenance 

  • Identify the pillars;
  • Learn the benefits of implementing a TPM program;
  • Understand the importance of 5S;
  • Learn what makes a successful team. 

5.5.2 Total Productive Maintenance: Planned Maintenance 

  • Define reactive vs. proactive;
  • Understand what tools and techniques to use to create condition-based maintenance; 
  • Learn how to decide if run to failure is the right choice. 

5.5.3 Total Productive Maintenance: Quality Maintenance 

  • Identify the different types of downtime;
  • Learn how TPM can improve quality and safety;
  • Learn how to identify quality concerns for maintenance. 

5.5.4 Total Productive Maintenance: Focused Improvement 

  • Learn how to start small and scale large;
  • Identify pilot areas;
  • Identify the 6M’s. 

5.5.5 Total Productive Maintenance: Early Equipment Management 

  • Understand the history of failures;
  • Learn the importance of base line status;
  • Learn the importance of planning. 

5.5.6 Total Productive Maintenance: TPM Administration and Sustainability 

  • Identify the importance to make decisions where the work is being done;
  • Understand what type of support employees need;
  • Learn how to measure to successes for long term commitment.
