A.2 Mechatronics II Certification | Instructor-Led
CERTIFICATE DESCRIPTION
A certified Technician can manage, investigate, repair & troubleshoot systems, with the aim of operational efficiency and cost and process control. This training emphasizes systems management, investigation, repair and troubleshooting. Prior to class, it is recommended that participants complete occupational, mechanical, electrical and PLC hands-on assessments.

CERTIFICATE OBJECTIVES
A.2.1 Mechatronics Level II: Process Control Technologies
  • Monitor the operation of equipment and be able to perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis and fault elimination;
  • Exchange and replace components, including controllers;
  • Learn to apply process control technology knowledge with all regulator types.
A.2.2 Mechatronics Level II: Programmable Logic Controller Part I
  • Connect different analog sensors and actuators to different analog lessons;
  • Setup and configure PROFIBUS and MPI networks;
  • Handle different formats of real numbers.
A.2.3 Mechatronics Level II: Programmable Logic Controller Part II
  • Connect different analog sensors and actuators to different analog lessons;
    Handle different formats of real numbers;
  • Setup and configure PROFIBUS and MPI networks.
A.2.4 Mechatronics Level II: Automation Systems
  • Operate, assemble and interconnect microcontrollers;
  • Make use of microcontrollers in a mechatronic system, to expedite automation systems;
  • Program mechatronic lessons and systems.
A.2.5 Mechatronics Level II: Motor Controls & Drives
  • Start a motor in the correct way, using the correct method and set up a motor control circuit;
  • Use control logic programs in motor control contexts;
  • Set up sensors in order to give feedback to a control circuit;
  • Choose and install the correct safety devices for specific control circuits.
A.2.6 Mechatronics Level II: Mechanics & Machine Elements Part I
  • Trace and describe the flow of energy in a given mechatronic system;
  • Describe the basic physical properties of mechanical components;
  • Correctly localize, identify and document causes of malfunctions in mechanical components.
