COURSE DESCRIPTION
Mechatronics Level I Operator training will provide the essential skills needed to function as a well-rounded machine operator in a complex production system, responsible for efficient operation of the equipment with minimal downtimes. Mechatronics Operator training is delivered with a focus on system understanding, troubleshooting and problem solving. Prior to class, it is recommended that the participants complete an occupational assessment as well as mechanical hands-on assessment.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
  • Understand the operation of the most common input devices: switches, sensors, thermocouples and transducers;
  • Become familiar with the operation of AC and DC electrical motors;
  • Understand what three-phase is and how it is generated, and what the advantages are;
  • Understand the speed control, starting methods and braking methods for three-phase motors.

This training emphasizes systems management, investigation, repair and troubleshooting. Prior to class, it is recommended that participants complete occupational, mechanical, electrical and PLC hands-on assessments. 

This course is part of the Mechatronics II Certification program. Interested?

COURSE OBJECTIVES
  • Monitor the operation of equipment and be able to perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis and fault elimination;
  • Exchange and replace components, including controllers;
  • Learn to apply process control technology knowledge with all regulator types.
