COURSE DESCRIPTION
HazCom is a set of standards that were designed and implemented by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) to protect workers and companies that deal with hazardous waste operations. Being exposed to hazardous substances can inflict a wide range of negative health effects, some of which can lead to death. In this training, participants will be shown how to comply with hazard management and hazardous waste regulations as required by OSHA and other federal safety agencies. Training topics include decontamination, hazardous chemicals, and more.

Δ Annual recertification may be required depending on the worksite regulations.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
  • Identify the employer's responsibilitites under the HCS, including training requirements;
  • Identify components of a Hazardous Communication program;
  • Describe requirements of the different types of Hazard Communication labels;
  • Locate pertinent information about chemicals on labels, including other forms of hazard communication to ensure "right to understanding" provisions of GHS requirements.
