2.4 Introduction to Lean for Healthcare | Instructor-Led (3.5Hrs)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Lean principles and lean tools have a very important role in the healthcare industry, where providing high quality care while increasing efficiency and reducing costs is top priority. When equipped with Lean tools and techniques, your frontline staff can identify waste in their health care delivery processes and then reduce or eliminate that waste.

In this course, participants will learn Lean methodologies that have helped health care organizations to realize many benefits, including reduced patient wait times, faster processing of medications, decreased risk of medication errors, less inventory and more patient-focused processes. 


COURSE OBJECTIVES
  • Define lean and its history;
  • Understand lean principles and goals;
  • Establish and understanding of NVA and VA work;
  • Understand how to use lean to improve processes;
  • Define system waste and the characteristics of a system with zero waste;
  • Detailed understanding of the 8 wastes and how to mitigate each one;
  • Establish how to successfully perform a waste walk.
