3.6 Workplace Harassment Prevention; Supervisors | Online (2Hrs)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Consistent with EEOC guidelines and court decisions, Workplace Harassment Prevention training covers not just sexual harassment, but all forms of workplace harassment, discrimination, and retaliation through numerous scenarios and learning games designed to explore the nuances of inappropriate workplace conduct. As required by various state and local laws, the training addresses topics beyond sexual harassment such as bullying; harassment based on gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation; and bystander intervention.


This 2-hour training addresses a supervisor's specific duties when it comes to preventing and reporting inappropriate behavior in the workplace. Supervisors must lead by example and not commit harassment, discrimination, or retaliation as well as monitor the workplace for any signs of these behaviors while promptly reporting them.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
  • Learn definitions and see examples of sexual discrimination, sexual harassment, and other forms of abusive behavior;
  • Understand the problems that may arise with workplace dating or advances from co-workers;
  • Learn the verbal, visual, and physical behaviors that can contribute to a hostile work environment;
  • Understand what the "bystander effect" is and how to be accountable for addressing and reporting inappropriate conduct;
  • Learn what your employer has an obligation to report and investigate related to harassment allegations;
  • Know your responsibilities as a supervisor for preventing and reporting inappropriate behavior in the workplace;
  • Understand how to monitor the workplace for any signs of harassment, discrimination, or retaliation;
  • Understand the disciplinary actions you can face as a supervisor for not promptly reporting harassment;
  • Visually understand the scenarios that raise potential discrimination issues related to national origin, citizenship, religion, disability, age, gender, pregnancy, and sexual orientation.
