Understand the overall APQP process
Introduce the DMAIC roadmap
Understand how to develop Project Scope & Definition
Lesson 2: Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Introduce control charts and methods of interpretation;
Define process capability indices for short term and long term capability.
Lesson 3: Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
Introduce concept of MSA and evaluation of data;
Outline procedure to perform and analyze Gage R&R Studies.
Lesson 4: Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA)
Review steps needed to create a Cause & Effect Matrix (C&E);
Define the steps required to develop a process FMEA.
Lesson 5: Control Plans
Understand requirement of PPAP (Production Parts Approval Process);
Understand importance of Standardized Work and Single Point Lessons;
Define steps to create control plans.
