Lean Tools: 5S for the Workplace - Lunch & LearnSmart Factory Institute at the PIE Innovation Center COURSE DESCRIPTION
Lean principles and lean tools have a very important role in various industrial sectors in today’s manufacturing world. The core idea of lean manufacturing is to maximize customer value while minimizing waste in the manufacturing process. In this class, participants will learn some of the most useful lean tools to use as part of a comprehensive lean implementation plan, achieving goals centered around reducing waste, improving efficiency and increasing customer value. Participants will engage in a factory simulation for applied learning which will enable them to connect the tools to the hands-on experience. Electrical Components (2-13-2026)Smart Factory Institute at the PIE Innovation Center COURSE DESCRIPTION
In this workshop, students are immersed in practical, real-world examples that illustrate how electricity is distributed and used in their plants and facilities. They’ll learn how to use electrical test equipment in their everyday jobs before moving on to an in-depth discussion about major electrical components, where and how these electrical components work, and their purposes within electrical systems. The goal of this basic electrical training course is to teach students how to reduce electrical equipment downtime, improve overall efficiency and safety, and fix problems they’ve been unable to solve on their own.
