COURSE DESCRIPTION

Employee success skills, including OSHA-10 training, are essential building blocks for achieving success in the manufacturing workplace and in one's career overall. COURSE OBJECTIVES

Lesson 1: OSHA-10  (10 Hours)

  • Identify and apply OSHA standards to ensure a safe working environment, recognizing and reducing potential hazards.
  • Demonstrate key health and safety practices, including the use of PPE, safe equipment handling, and emergency response procedures.
  • OSHA-10 Card provided upon successful completion of the course.

Lesson 2: Math Foundations  (2 Hours)

  • Become familiar with basic math principles applicable to manufacturing operators.
  • Demonstrate accurate measurement skill required in manufacturing environments.

Lesson 3: 5S for the Workplace  (2 Hours)

  • Know the benefits of 5S, implement it throughout a facility, and understand how to sustain it.
  • Define the benefits of a visually managed workplace and learn how to spot abnormalities quickly.

Lesson 4: Root Cause Analysis  (2 Hours)

  • Outline steps for effective problem solving.
  • Recognize the importance of root cause analysis and the tools to apply it in the workplace.

Lesson 5: Communication Skills for the Workplace  (2 Hours)

  • Explore active and empathetic listening skills and assess your ability.
  • Learn how to communicate when there is conflict.

Lesson 6: Working Effectively in Teams  (2 Hours)

  • Describe communication techniques that enhance teamwork and collaboration.
  • Discuss how to overcome the barriers your team may face.
  • Learn the skills of personal competence.

Lesson 7: Conflict Resolution  (2 Hours)

  • Understand conflict and its sources.
  • Recognize your dominate conflict management style and explore other approaches.
  • Learn a model for managing conflict and dealing with difficult people.

Lesson 8: Preparing for Career Advancement  (30 Mins)

  • Understand the appropriate attire for an interview.
  • Review common behavioral interview questions and learn techniques for crafting appropriate responses.
