Today’s leader must be versatile and adaptable. Effective leadership results in everything from increased workplace productivity and employee retention, to improved succession planning and, ultimately, a better bottom line. This course, a key component of our Leadership Development training, serves as the foundation for establishing high performing leaders and defines the relationship between trust, respect, and credibility, covers the importance of follow up and honoring commitments, provides tips for gaining trust and reviews the five dysfunctions of a team – how lack of trust will inhibit execution.

This training is designed for managers, department heads, front line supervisors, team leaders and coordinators whether they are new to the position or have been in a leadership role for years.

Course Delivery
Blended Learning - Online/Self-Paced and Virtual/Instructor-Led

Participants will receive a link to the online portion of the course one week prior to the class date, to complete on their own. This is a 1 hour self-paced lesson. Participants will then join a 90 minute, virtual instructor-led class to review course material and apply knowledge through class activities.

Participants will be awarded a badge for each course they complete. A Leadership Development Certificate will be awarded to those participants completing all 7 courses within the certification.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Most employees serve as team members, not as team leaders. This course teaches Six Sigma skills and tools that will enable participants to become fully contributing members and assist leaders of Green Belt and Black Belt projects and focuses on basic process improvement skills, including process mapping and problem-solving tools. Participants will become well versed in foundation elements of six sigma concepts and how to apply it to projects.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Review of the DMAIC Roadmap with focus on the Define and Measure stages;
Overview of the SIPOC mapping tool and Current State Value Stream Mapping;
Definition and identification of the two different types of variation – common cause and special cause;
Understanding of basic problem solving tools to identify root cause: 5 Whys and 6Ms/Fishbone Diagram;
Introduction of two of the basic analysis tools, Pareto charts and Histograms.

9.1.3 Leadership Development: Coaching & Mentoring

Coaching and mentoring come in multiple forms and both are critical to the success of strengthening your team and building a solid succession plan for key leaders. This course defines and explains how to coach and mentor, how to set appropriate goals and coaching to achieve those goals, how to overcome common obstacles and develop a coaching plan and provide feedback.

9.1.4 Leadership Development: Team Work &Team Building

Teams are typically comprised of people with diverse ideas and backgrounds and will always outperform individuals when leaders understand how to build these teams and leverage the strengths of all team members. This course defines types of teams and the typical roles and responsibilities associated with each and discovers problem solving as a team.

9.1.5 Leadership Development: Utilizing Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace

Leaders are faced with many situations and must learn to remain calm in the face of adversity and stay sensitive to the needs of direct reports, peers and authority figures. This course reviews self–awareness and self-management, how to manage your emotions, and understand others’ emotions and how to manage in the workplace.

9.1.6 Leadership Development: Conflict Resolution

Wherever two or more people come together, there is the possibility of conflict. This course gives participants a six-step process that they can use to modify and resolve conflicts of any size. Participants will also learn crucial conflict resolution skills, including disagreeing diplomatically and using the Agreement Frame.

9.1.7 Leadership Development: Delegating Effectively

It is difficult in the day-to-day whirlwind to properly delegate and get the results that you are looking for. This course will take participants through a step-by-step process for delegating effectively. Learn how to spend your time as a leader more productively and understand “SIMPLE” delegation methods.

CMMS for Maintenance Technicians introduces participants to the essential computer skills needed to confidently navigate and use Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
